The best time to bring guests to Batu Caves (and wow them) ? Thaipusam !

KTM Komuter had extended the line to directly service Batu Caves since July ( or was it June) 2010. So, it was rather convenient, I remember the year before we had to disembarked  at Sentul and then board another KTM train ( the normal slow train) to get to Batu Caves . And the best thing was – during Thaipusam, KTM offered special discounts for the train tickets, our ticket from KL Sentral to Batu Caves only cost RM1 !

Once we got off at Batu Caves station, the first thing that hit us was – The PM’s voice over the PA. We thought it was a recorded speech until we saw the PM in person at the dais.

As expected- there was a big and colourful crowdPeople everywhere

 Devotees fulfilling their vows

Kavadi of various shapes and sizes

No age limit

Awesome feats

Supporters and family members giving the kavadi bearer a much needed foot massage

This was the third time i witnessed Thaipusam at Batu Caves and it managed to amaze me each and everytime…for older postings on Thaipusam, please click here and here

All the needles and skewers give me the shivers! Did you participate in any of those?

You so timid one meh Alpha ? No la..i am merely a spectator not a participant. My colleague walked 7 hours from KL to Batu Caves , i am thinking i might try that one day- one of the attraction is the (free) food available along the way. 😛 . Wanna try ah ?
